According to Tamara Taylor, her costar Emily is doing a great job balancing her hunt for fictitious killers on Bones and her newborn on the “extremely” baby-friendly set:

“Oh, my God. Henry is so beautiful,” gushed co-star Tamara Taylor, “He is such a smiley little lover. It’s so great getting our makeup done and hearing the baby like cooing in the trailer, it’s so nice to have that energy around.

“He’s got his little baby trailer. It’s nice that she gets to bring him with her so she doesn’t have to be away from him long,” says Tamara. ”She’s doing incredibly well. Really, I can’t imagine splitting my focus the way she is, and she’s doing a great job of it. She’s doing it all gracefully.”

Ryan Gosling, Emily Deschanel, Zooey Deschanel, Steve-O, Alicia Silverstone, Kristin Bauer and Bryan Adams are among a group of ten big name celebrities who have signed an open letter asking McDonald’s to switch to buying free range eggs.

In November one of McDonald’s suppliers, Sparboe Farms, was caught on film by Mercy for Animals torturing their hens. According to MFA’s website, footage of Sparboe Farms “revealed hens crammed into filthy battery cages and dead hens left to rot alongside birds still laying eggs for human consumption. The investigator also documented workers burning off the beaks of chicks without painkillers, sadistically and maliciously torturing animals, and throwing live birds into plastic bags and leaving them to suffocate.”

While McDonald’s dropped that supplier and publicly came out against them, MFA and this group of celebs don’t think it’s enough.

Their open letter says, “While MCDonald’s has already established a 100 per cent cage-free purchasing policy in Europe, your US restaurants continue to support egg factory farms that confine hens for most of their lives in cages so small they can’t even spread their wings, nearly anything that comes naturally to them. Common sense tells us that animals with legs and wings should be given the basic freedom to move.

“Sadly, there is not a single federal law to protect hens from cruelty from the time they hatch to the time they are killed. While MCDonald’s brags about the ‘billions and billions served’, millions of hens exploited for your restaurants are being grossly underserved. In fact, these animals are being abused in ways that would land your egg suppliers in jail, if dogs or cats were the victims.”

To join the celebs and tell McDonald’s that you’re not okay with their treatment of egg laying hens, click here, and tell them how you feel. (Source)

Seems that all a gal needs to do to get her own show on Fox is be a Deschanel. Great! Where do we sign up for the DNA transplant?

Oh, fine. Obviously you gotta be a little talented and a lotta cute, much like Emily Deschanel’s little sister and indie princess Zooey, who just landed herself a full-season pickup of her new show, New Girl.

So now that Zooey will be a permanent fixture around the Fox lot, naturally we’d expect Brennan’s long-lost Benjamin Franklin-loving cousin Margaret to make her encore Bones appearance — last time we saw Zooey around those parts, it was Christmas 2009 — and what better reason to make the trip than to meet her on-screen niece or nephew in Season 7?

But c’mon. That’s too easy. It may have taken 5 seasons for Zooey to grace the Bones set, but we’re not as patient as we used to be. Plus, we can’t think of a better cameo to up the ante this season than one made by Emily, herself. She could play her “adorkable” character Jess’s therapist (breakups are hard!), a creepy new neighbor (city livin’, yall), or a hot cougar that dates one of her male roomies (ding!ding!ding!).

What do you think? Would you like to see Emily breakout out of her Brennan shell and reunite with her sis on New Girl? (Source)

Pregnant actress Emily Deschanel has adopted a new vegan diet as she prepares to give birth to her first child. While the star’s diet has been animal product-free for years, pregnancy presented a new nutritional challenge.

The Bones star and her actor husband David Hornsby are expecting a baby later this year, and her dietitian Ashley Koff has told People.com Deschanel has altered her food choices as she carries the tot. To avoid too many carbohydrates, Koff has taken hummus and pita off Deschanel’s menu, replacing the flat bread with vegetables, while the actress’s increased energy needs are being met by snacking regularly on nutrient-dense hemp seeds.

“What we want to do is give the body just enough energy so that it performs well. She loves nut butters and sometimes we’ll do fun smoothies, especially if she’s at work. We’ll take coconut water, nut butter, and berries and make a smoothie so she’s got something to sustain her energy in a liquid form.”

But vegan or not, Koff says the most important feature of any diet should be natural food.

“Whether you’re eating a plant- or animal-based diet, you want to eat food in the form closest to nature,” she recommends.
