"I'm a vegan, but you can be really unhealthy as a vegan, too. Vegan just means that you don't use animal products, so you don't wear leather, you don't wear wool, and you don't eat animal products. But you can eat french fries and stuff like that all day long."

Bones creator Hart Hanson is developing a potential spin-off, Fox confirms with EW. As first reported by Deadline, it would revolve not around an existing character — fans, breathe! — but tracker Walter Sherman, the central figure in “The Locator” novels by Richard Greener. If all goes according to plan, Hanson will introduce Sherman in an episode Fox says he’ll shoot in early December for air next year.
In the books, Sherman is a Vietnam vet, but in the Bones world, Sherman will be a former military policeman who served in Iraq with Booth (David Boreanaz). Just as Booth didn’t originally get along with socially-challenged Brennan, he and Sherman — who suffered brain damage overseas that left him “skeptical of every statement” and prone to asking “offensive, seemingly irrelevant questions which oddly enough turn out to be extremely relevant” — will butt heads. Brennan, on the other hand, will be fascinated by him — which means he’s very good at his job (hence the nickname The Locator). If the network believes Hanson’s found a true leading man, the character could spin-off to his own series. (How very JAG to NCIS to NCIS: Los Angeles of them.) Hanson is looking to cast an actor in his late 20s or 30s.
So, what do you think? It could be nice for Bones to have someone to do a crossover episode with that makes more sense than The Family Guy. In the crowded procedural field, the character sounds somewhat original. (Though not as cool as crime scene cleaner Webster Fillmore Goodhue, the focus of the Alan Ball HBO pilot starring Bright Star‘s Ben Whishaw.)
Who would you cast? This is a tough one: It needs to be someone with a believable physique for military police, who can act amusingly paranoid and reclusive, but who is also very attractive (I’m assuming). I don’t know how old Theo Alexander, who played Talbot on True Blood last season is, but we know he can wear a suit and deliver biting dialogue. (Can he do an American accent?) Fox would probably want a bigger name though. Where’s a young Jeff Goldblum when you need him? (Source)

It’s no surprise to us that Bones actress Emily Deschanel is speaking up in support of World Go Vegan Week — an initiative started by the nonprofit group In Defense of Animals. Deschanel has been an outspoken vegan for many years and regularly discusses the health, environmental and animal welfare issues behind a plant-based diet.
“The 5th annual World Go Vegan Week is taking place this year from October 24th through 31st,” said Deschanel. “This week is a celebration of compassion and a time to take action for animals, the environment and everyone’s well-being. A plant-based diet not only improves your health, it significantly reduces your carbon footprint and preserves resources for future generations. So please join me in creating a healthy future and go vegan for World Go Vegan Week.”

I’ve added a few promotional stills from this week’s upcoming, “Bones” episode titled The Body in the Bounty.”
After a skull and decomposing hands are found in a dumpster, the team must not only solve the crime but also search for the rest of the victim’s remains. Identified as Ray Raminsky, the victim turns out to be a bounty hunter in search of Charles Braverman, a man indicted for the murder of a co-worker. Meanwhile, Brennan is asked by Professor Bunsen Jude “The Science Dude” if he can shoot an episode of his children’s show from The Jeffersonian Lab with Brennan as his special guest. Brennan initially turns him down, but is surprised when he makes her a deal she can’t refuse, so she takes him on as a new “squintern.” As the team pieces together the details of the crime, they discover that they are not alone in the hunt for Braverman and find themselves in a chase with an unexpected suspect.

Bones will be doing a Brennan-centric episode later this season, and while that may not seem surprising, as she is the titular character, we’ve never seen one quite like this. The episode will be told entirely from Brennan’s point of view, according to executive producer Stephen Nathan, who calls it “a very stylized episode.” How does it come about?
“Brennan is investigating a murder of someone who appears to be her,” he adds. “It’s sort of Brennan examining her life while at the same time examining the victim. We’ve never done anything this internal, it’s probably the most psychologically oriented episode we’ve ever done.”
No word on whether this is the very episode of Bones that Emily Deschanel is directing this season (the 14th), but either way, it sounds like it’s one not to miss. (Source)

The executive producer of Bones has confirmed that the crime drama will resolve the pregnancy plot involving Brennan (Emily Deschanel). The character previously considered having a child and asked her partner Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) to be a sperm donor.
“Brennan expressed a desire [to have a baby] and it surprised her,” Stephen Nathan told TV Guide. “And while that moment has passed, Booth’s donation still exists. With Brennan expressing that desire, it’s hard to un-ring that bell. That’s really all I can say about that at this point.”
Bones continues this Thursday at 8/7c on Fox. (Source)
