"I'm a vegan, but you can be really unhealthy as a vegan, too. Vegan just means that you don't use animal products, so you don't wear leather, you don't wear wool, and you don't eat animal products. But you can eat french fries and stuff like that all day long." - Emily Deschanel

This Thursday night on Fox’s Bones, the Gravedigger met her maker – but by a means that dug up a grave figure from Booth’s own past. After a bit of misdirection placing Temp’s pop (guest star Ryan O’Neal) on the suspect list, it was revealed that the triggerman on Heather Taffet’s takedown was Jacob Ripkin Broadsky, an elite sniper peer of Booth’s. The shooter’s mission was not so much to dispatch with the Digger but tap Seeley firmly on the shoulder and thus unsettle his world. Along the way –- but before the reveal -– we saw that Booth, from his days as a sniper, could identify with the gunman’s muddled morality.
Bones star Emily Deschanel says the Broadsky storyline will “play a part through the remainder of the season,” and “brings up a lot of things for Booth.”
David Boreanaz himself sums up Broadsky (played by The Mummy‘s Arnold Vosloo) as “somebody Booth is proud of, somebody that he has respected and learned from in the past. He knows he’s a good guy,” Boreanaz continues, “but he’s kind of gone the wrong way.”
Toward the end of the first episode, Booth had at least one opportunity to bring down Broadsky, but found himself unable to pull the trigger. And that, Boreanaz previews, will be a recurring dilemma as this intense storyline plays out.
“Booth is just looking to answer two questions: Why? And how could someone do this?” the actor explains. “Now, he might have to take him out -– with his own gun –- and that should be interesting to see.”
Episode stills from next week’s episode of “Bones” titled, The Sin in the Sisterhood have been added into the gallery.
A body disguised as a scarecrow is found with a bullet wound in a remote cornfield, and the team is forced to work against the clock to avoid a storm and potential complications that would affect the evidence. Booth and Brennan interrogate the victim’s three wives, who are also sisters, and learn that jealousy between the sisters and their desire for their husband’s attention had caused a major rift in the family. Booth and Brennan also question one relative who disapproved of the victim’s polygamy.
Meanwhile, Cam loses confidence in her relationship with her on-call doctor boyfriend, but they both realize they need to make their relationship a priority.
Screen captures from Thursday night’s episode of “Bones” titled, The Bullet in the Brain have been into the gallery. What did everyone think? I thought it was an amazing episode and was excited for Arnold Vosloo’s guest appearance. Head over to the gallery for the latest additions.
Just a friendly reminder that “Bones” is an all new episode tonight! This episode is titled The Bullet in the Brain”.
The city anxiously anticipates the arrival of Heather Taffet, more notoriously known as “The Gravedigger,” for her final appeal after being sentenced to death for a kidnap-murder and a series of similar coldblooded crimes. But when a bullet targeted at The Gravedigger is fired from a distance and hits her, the Jeffersonian team is tasked to piece together the sniper’s precise location as well as identify the suspect and his motives.
With the help of probing investigator Caroline Julian, Booth and Brennan put together a list of likely suspects, but the evidence and the remarkable skill needed to pull off the crime leads the team to believe that the crime was an inside, professional job, leaving Brennan’s father Max and even Booth as plausible suspects. Meanwhile, Sweets attempts to put on a brave face after being caught in the firestorm just moments following a chilly encounter with The Gravedigger.
We’re all for our favorite TV characters getting shot by Cupid’s arrow, but now that an actual sniper is on the loose on Bones…we’d rather everyone just stay indoors. Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz are oddly excited about the sniper storyline, so they were happy to tell us what to expect. Plus, we got more info on that annoying love triangle…
“I think that Booth will find himself really in a place where he’ll make some decisions,” David tells us. “And I think he’ll come to a big decision whether or not he wants to continue with the present relationship he’s in now or maybe go back to the one everyone wants him to go back to.” Choosing between Temperance and Hannah (Katheryn Winnick)? It’s about to be a girlfight! Right?
Wrong. “We’re not exactly girlfight kind of people,” laughs Emily. “She (Hannah) catches wind that I have feelings for Booth and she addresses that with me and it’s interesting. I think we both like each other and that almost makes it worse.” Two girls wanting the same guy and getting along? What’s the fun in that?
But fans thirsting for blood that doesn’t involve hair-pulling and face-scratching can find it in the upcoming sniper storyline, which is almost upon us. “We have a sniper coming up who may go over a few episodes,” Emily explains. “It’s an arc that’s action-packed and intense and dramatic. And Booth may have come across [the sniper] in his life before because he’s quite a good sniper himself, being an Army ranger before.” Not only is the sniper going to cause some physical damage, but he’s about to infiltrate Booth’s mental world.
“It’s a character that Booth has known in his past, a guy who’s coming back to cause some damage and create some problems for the people that he’s around and also for Booth’s mentality,” reveals David, who directed the first episode featuring the sniper. “Emotionally it was interesting to see how Booth was revved up during the whole episode, trying to figure out who this sniper was, get into his mind and find out who it was at the end. It’s going to be an interesting arc.”
DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE POTENTIALLY SPOILED:
Under the Press Release: “The Bullet in the Brain” there’s a list of guest stars. A previous spoiler alluded to the Gravedigger and an intern being killed by the sniper in that episode. The only squintern listed is Wendell – which leads me to believe he’ll be the intern killed….

Bones star Emily Deschanel has revealed that her directorial debut on the show has been rescheduled. The actress was originally planning to helm the 14th instalment of the current season but later postponed in order to have a larger acting role in the two preceding episodes.
Deschanel recently told GiveMeMyRemote that she will now direct episode “20 or 21″ of the show’s sixth run.
“I’m supposed to direct the third-to-last or fourth-to-last episode of the season,” she explained.
